GLASSBORO, NJ – Three players scored in double figures to lead the Rowan University women’s basketball team to a 67-50 win over Rutgers-Camden in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Wednesday.

Guard Gina Catanzariti (sr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) scored a career-high 21 points. She also pulled down six rebounds. Forward Brittany Baum (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards. Guard Lauren Creel (jr. Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) compiled 13 points and three steals. Forward Lauren Gregg (jr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) totaled seven points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Guard Alissa Lamey (jr. Northfield, NJ/Mainland Reg.) tallied six points and five assists.

Rowan improves to 12-9 overall and 7-4 in the conference. Rutgers-Camden has a 9-15 record with a 2-10 NJAC mark. Guard Brittany Turner (jr. Belleville, NJ/Queen of Peace) registered 26 points, four rebounds and two steals. Forward Tina Croxton (fr. Deptford, NJ/Deptford) collected 10 rebounds and blocked three shots. Guard Alyce Milakovic (so. Blackwood, NJ/Triton Reg.) contributed with six points and eight boards. Guard Samantha Bragg (sr. Lindenwold, NJ/Lindenwold) had five steals.

The Profs opened the game with an 8-2 run over the first 7:07. Baum scored four points, while Catanzariti and Gregg each had two. Guard Kristina Cox (jr. Deptford, NJ/Deptford) nailed a three-pointer at 12:04 to cut the deficit to three (8-5). Rowan had an 11-2 surge to go up, 19-7 at 7:28. Catanzariti scored five of the 11 points. Creel’s layup at 4:34 extended the lead to 17 (26-9). Two straight baskets by Turner at 2:02 and 1:13 pulled the Scarlet Raptors within 13 (26-13). Baum (:50) and Catanzariti (:28) each sunk two free throws to make the score, 30-13 at the intermission. Creel recorded 11 points in the period.

In the second half, Catanzariti’s jumper at 16:25 pushed the advantage to 20 (34-14). Rowan was ahead, 49-31 at 9:49. Rutgers-Camden trailed by 13 (49-36) after a three-point play by Milakovic (9:21) and a jumper by Turner (8:51). It was the closest the Scarlet Raptors came the rest of the way. Catanzariti had a tip-in with 1:01 remaining to give Rowan its largest lead of the game
(67-45).
