WAYNE, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team won 3-2 over conference opponent William Paterson University on Tuesday night. The set scores were 23-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-23 and 15-11.
The Profs are 9-6 overall and 3-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Pioneers have a 13-3 record with a 2-2 conference mark.
Rowan was led by outside hitter/middle blocker Krissy Collins (so. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) with a match-high 20 kills and a .341 hitting percentage. Outside hitter/middle blocker Kirstin Sciolaro (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) contributed with 10 kills. She had a .444 hitting percentage. Setter Kelsey Donovan (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) totaled 27 assists and 10 digs.
Libero Lauren Ruffalo (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) collected 22 digs. Defensive specialist Nicole Ciandella (so. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) accumulated 10 assists and 11 digs. Defensive specialist Sarah Betancourt (sr. Harrington Park, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) added 11 digs.
For William Paterson, outside hitter Megan Maher (sr. Wood-Ridge, NJ/Wood-Ridge) compiled 16 kills and 16 digs. Outside hitter Kim Runge (sr. Closter, NJ/Northern Valley Reg.-Demarest) tallied a match-high 25 digs and 10 kills. Libero Michelle Mitchell (jr. Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) followed with 22 digs. Setters Liz Dykhouse (jr. Wanaque, NJ/Lakeland Reg.) and Danielle Koukos (fr. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) had 19 and 16 assists respectively. They each chipped in with seven digs.
