GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team defeated Rutgers-Newark, 3-2 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Thursday night.  The set scores were 19-25, 25-20, 25-16, 21-25 and 16-14.

The Profs have a 12-14 record with a 4-2 conference mark.  The Scarlet Raiders are 5-17 overall and 2-5 in the NJAC.

For Rowan, outside hitter/middle blocker Krissy Collins (so. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) recorded a match-high 14 kills.  She also collected seven digs, two service aces and two blocks.  Outside hitter/middle blocker Dakota Oeskovic (so. Pine Beach, NJ/Toms River S.) followed with 12 kills and 10 digs.  Setter Jamie Leishman (jr. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) totaled 36 assists and 16 digs.  Libero Lauren Ruffalo (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) collected 31 digs.  Outside hitter Sarah Hanrahan (fr. Montvale, NJ/Pascack Hills) contributed with 17 digs and defensive specialist Nicole Ciandella (so. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) added 15.

Rutgers-Newark right side Stephanie Touzan (jr. West New York, NJ/Memorial) registered 13 kills while outside hitter Toni Moppert (sr. Woodcliff Lake, NJ/Pascack Hills) followed with 10.  Moppert also had 17 digs.  Setter Jen Mendoza (so. Lake Hiawatha, NJ/Parsippany) tallied 28 assists and 19 digs.  Outside hitter Pauline Walega (so. Harrison, NJ/Harrison) accumulated 32 digs.
