ASTON, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team played three matches at the Knights Homecoming Classic on Saturday.  The Profs lost to host Neumann University, 3-0 then they defeated Wilkes University, 3-0.  Nazareth College won 3-1 over Rowan.

Neumann had set scores of 25-13, 25-22 and 25-17.  Outside hitter/middle blocker Dakota Oeskovic (so. Pine Beach, NJ/Toms River S.) totaled six kills for Rowan.  Outside hitter/middle blocker Elaina Hansen (so. Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.) and outside hitter/middle blocker Krissy Collins (so. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) each contributed with five kills.  Hansen also  recorded three blocks.  Setter Jamie Leishman (jr. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) registered 17 assists and libero Lauren Ruffalo (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) collected 11 digs. 

Rowan defeated Wilkes, 25-18, 25-14 and 27-25.  Oeskovic led the way with 10 kills followed by Hansen and Collins with seven apiece.  Outside hitter/middle blocker Sarah Hanrahan (fr. Montvale, NJ/Pascack Hills) added six kills.  Setter Kelsey Donovan (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) accumulated 26 assists and nine digs. 

The set scores against Nazareth were 25-10, 21-25, 25-21 and 28-26.  Collins tallied 15 kills and had a .324 hitting percentage.  Hanrahan posted eight kills.  Leishman compiled 27 assists.  Ruffalo and defensive specialist Nicole Ciandella (so. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) chipped in with 18 and 14 digs respectively. Ruffalo was named to the All-Classic team.

Rowan (11-14) hosts conference opponent Rutgers-Newark on Thursday, October 20 at 7 p.m.
