POMONA, NJ – The Richard Stockton College men’s soccer team defeated Rowan University, 2-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Wednesday night.
The Ospreys have a 6-4-1 overall record and are 1-2 in the conference. The Profs are 3-6-2 overall with a 0-4 NJAC mark.
At 60:55 in the second period, forward Rafael Duarte (sr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) knocked in a pass from midfielder Clay Gashlin (so. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.). With five seconds remaining in the game, midfielder Brian Thomsen (jr. Brick, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) found the net with an assist by forward Kyle Evans (sr. Seaville, NJ/Ocean City).
Richard Stockton out shot Rowan, 24-12. Ospreys’ goalkeeper Tim Brett (fr. Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra) made four saves. Profs’ goalkeeper Charlie Cunliffe (sr. Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) turned away six shots.
Rowan travels to San Antonio, TX on Friday-Saturday, October 1-2. The Profs play Trinity University (TX) on Friday at 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, Rowan faces Southwestern University at 6 p.m.
