GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team shut out Kean University, 3-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday night. The set scores were 25-18, 25-15 and 25-16.
The Profs improve to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference. The Cougars have a 9-10 overall and a 1-2 NJAC mark.
Setter Kelsey Donovan (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) paced Rowan with 29 assists and 15 digs. Middle blockers Krissy Collins (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and Nikki Binetti (fr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) each had nine kills. Collins added four blocks and had a .409 hitting percentage. Outside hitter Katie Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) posted seven kills and two service aces. Libero Lauren Ruffalo (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) compiled a match-high 23 digs. Opposite Megan Mondelli (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) contributed with 11 digs and two aces.
For Kean, outside hitter Jamie Sacco (jr. Park Ridge, NJ/Park Ridge) tallied nine kills. Setter Colleen Masterson (sr. Rahway, NJ/Roselle Catholic) registered 25 assists, 11 digs and four service aces. Libero/outside hitter Samantha Sacco (so. Park Ridge, NJ/Park Ridge) chipped in with 12 digs, while outside hitter Nicole Bolash (jr. Clinton, NJ/Voorhees) had nine. Middle hitter Tara Richey (jr. Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) accumulated four kills and two blocks.
Rowan travels to conference opponent Rutgers-Camden on Thursday, September 30 at 7 p.m.
