GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team had a 3-1 victory over Bryn Mawr College in a nonconference match on Saturday. The set scores were 20-25, 25-11, 25-23 and 25-15.

Rowan remains undefeated with a 3-0 record, while Bryn Mawr is 1-3. The Profs were led by outside hitter Katie Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) with 11 kills and two blocks. Middle blockers Nikki Binetti (fr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.), Krissy Collins (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and Dakota Oeskovic (fr. Pine Beach, NJ/Toms River S.) all posted 10 kills. Collins also had 12 digs, seven blocks and three service aces. Opposite Megan Mondelli (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) added seven kills, 11 digs and three aces.

Defensive specialists Casey Grasso (fr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) and Sarah Betancourt (jr. Harrington, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) tallied 30 and 16 digs respectively. Libero Lauren Ruffalo (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) contributed with 23 digs. Setter Kelsey Donovan (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) totaled 43 assists and 10 digs.

For the Owls, middle hitters Mikecia Witherspoon (jr. Philadelphia, PA/Julia Masterman) and Katie Merrill (jr. Sierra Madre, CA/Pasadena) both compiled 11 kills. Merrill collected 23 digs, while Witherspoon had 13 digs and five blocks. Defensive specialist Jill Perri (sr. Ridgewood, NJ/University of Florida) and setter Emily Takeuchi-Miller (jr. Tucson, AZ/Green Fields Country Day School) accumulated 19 digs apiece. Takeuchi-Miller dished 26 assists. Libero Miranda McDevitt (fr. Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) chipped in with 14 digs.

Rowan hosts Richard Stockton College in its conference opener on Wednesday, September 15 at 7 p.m.
