SELINSGROVE, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team went 1-1 on the final day of the Hampton Inn Crusader Classic on Saturday. Rowan lost to host Susquehanna University, 3-0 and defeated Washington and Jefferson College, 3-2.

Rowan has a 12-7 overall record. On Friday, the Profs had a 3-2 win over Albright College and fell to York College (PA), 3-0. Outside hitter Katie Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

The set scores against Susquehanna were 25-19, 25-22 and 25-23. Havlicek totaled 13 kills and four blocks. Middle blocker Nikki Binetti (fr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) posted nine kills and six blocks, while middle blocker Krissy Collins (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) had eight kills and two blocks. Setter Kelsey Donovan (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) registered 31 assists and seven digs.

Against Washington and Jefferson, the set scores were 23-25, 20-25, 25-18, 25-22 and 15-10. Binetti led the way with 13 kills and five blocks. Outside hitter Kaitlin Kemp (fr. Fredericksburg, VA/Massaponax) followed with 12 kills. Collins added 10 kills and two blocks, while Havlicek had nine kills and eight digs. Setter Nikki Ciandella (fr. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) compiled 23 assists, 15 digs and three service aces. Libero Lauren Ruffalo (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) contributed with 21 digs. Opposite Megan Mondelli (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) accumulated five kills, 18 digs and three aces.

Rowan travels to conference opponent Ramapo College on Tuesday, October 12 at 7 p.m.
