SELINSGROVE, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team played two matches at the Hampton Inn Crusader Classic on Friday. Rowan defeated Albright College, 3-2 and lost to York College (PA), 3-0. The two-day classic is being held at Susquehanna University.

The Profs have an 11-6 record. On Saturday, Rowan’s first match is against Susquehanna University at 11 a.m. and the second one is against Washington & Jefferson College at 3 p.m.

Against Albright College (6-12), the set scores were 29-27, 27-29, 25-18, 27-29 and 15-9. Outside hitter Krissy Collins (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) contributed with 18 kills and four blocks. Opposite Megan Mondelli (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) and outside hitter Katie Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) each registered 15 kills while middle blocker Nikki Binetti (fr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) followed with 14. Mondelli also totaled 15 digs.

Outside hitter Kaitlin Kemp (fr. Fredericksburg, VA/Massaponax) added 11 kills. Setter Kelsey Donovan (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) accumulated 65 assists and 15 digs. Defensive specialist Casey Grasso (fr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. DuPont) collected 12 digs and three service aces. Libero Lauren Ruffalo (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and defensive specialist Sarah Betancourt (jr. Harrington Park, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) compiled 17 and 16 digs respectively.

York (20-1) won 25-22, 28-26 and 25-20. Kemp and Havlicek each totaled six kills. Mondelli and Collins contributed with five kills apiece. Ruffalo tallied 12 digs while Donovan registered 21 assists. Collins and Havlicek both recorded two blocks.
