GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team defeated William Paterson University, 3-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday.

The set scores were 25-12, 25-19 and 25-15. The Profs improve to 10-5 overall and 3-2 in the conference. The Pioneers have a 12-3 overall record and a 2-2 NJAC mark.

Rowan was led by middle blocker Krissy Collins (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) with 10 kills and four blocks. She compiled a .320 hitting percentage. Middle blocker Nikki Binetti (fr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) followed with eight kills and four blocks. Outside hitter Katie Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) and middle blocker Dakota Oeskovic (fr. Pine Beach, NJ/Toms River S.) contributed with seven and six kills respectively. Setter Kelsey Donovan (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) registered 31 assists, 10 digs and two blocks.

Opposite Megan Mondelli (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) posted a team-high 16 digs. Libero Lauren Ruffalo (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) tallied 13 digs, while defensive specialists Sarah Betancourt (jr. Harrington, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) and Casey Grasso (fr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) each had 11.

For William Paterson, outside hitter Kim Runge (jr. Closter, NJ/Northern Valley Demarest) accumulated seven kills and seven digs. Setter/outside hitter Megan Maher (jr. Wood-Ridge, NJ/Wood-Ridge) totaled five kills, 11 digs and five assists. Setter Jillian Bronowich (sr. Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) had eight assists and seven digs. Opposite Michelle Leeder (sr. Ridgefield, NJ/Ridgefield Mem.) notched 20 digs and libero Michelle Mitchell (so. Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) had nine.

Rowan travels to Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA for the Hampton Inn Crusader Classic on Friday-Saturday, October 8-9. On Friday, Rowan plays Albright College at 6 p.m. and York College (PA) at 8 p.m. The Profs face Susquehanna at 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a 3 p.m. contest against Washington & Jefferson College.
