GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team had a 3-2 victory over Goucher College in a nonconference match on Tuesday night. The set scores were 16-25, 25-13, 25-12, 19-25 and 15-11.

Rowan improves to 15-11, while Goucher has a 7-18 record. The Profs were led by outside hitter Katie Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) with nine kills and eight digs. Middle blocker Krissy Collins (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) followed with eight kills and four blocks. Middle blocker Nikki Binetti (fr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) compiled seven kills and five blocks. Setter Nikki Ciandella (fr. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) tallied 27 assists and 16 digs. Libero Lauren Ruffalo (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and defensive specialist Casey Grasso (fr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) registered 29 and 19 digs respectively.

For the Gophers, outside hitter Megan Chalk (fr. Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) posted a match-high 14 kills and 16 digs. Opposite Kasey Quinn (sr. Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) accumulated 11 kills and 24 digs. Setter Claire Sauvage-Mar (sr. New Delhi, India/American Embassy School) produced 30 assists, 14 digs and four blocks. Libero Ashley Fan (so. Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) contributed with 19 digs.

Rowan hosts conference opponent New Jersey City University in its third annual “Dig Pink” match on Thursday, October 28 at 7 p.m.
