COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team went 0-2 during a tri-match on Saturday. The Profs lost to host Ursinus College, 3-1 and fell to Stevenson University, 3-0.

The set scores against Ursinus (10-14) were 25-21, 16-25, 26-24 and 27-25. The Bears were led by outside hitter Kim Goldberg (jr. Sarasota, FL/Out of Door Academy) with 14 kills and seven digs. Outside hitter Mary Kate Wilmoth (sr. Wilmington, DE/St. Mark’s) followed with 10 kills, 14 digs and three blocks. Middle blocker Kristin Hanratty (so. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) added eight kills, nine digs and three blocks. Setter Kayla McLeod (so. Hermitage, TN/University School of Nashville) registered 32 assists, nine digs and three service aces. Outside hitter Gabriella Galleo (sr. Reading, PA/Spring-Ford) had a team-high 24 digs.

For Rowan (14-11), outside hitter Katie Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) compiled 15 kills. Middle blocker Krissy Collins (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) totaled 13 kills, five blocks and four service aces. Middle blocker Nikki Binetti (fr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) and outside hitter Kaitlin Kemp (fr. Fredericksburg, VA/Massaponax) had 10 and nine kills respectively. Libero Lauren Ruffalo (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) contributed with 24 digs and defensive specialist Casey Grasso (fr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) had 11. Setters Nikki Ciandella (fr. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) and Kelsey Donovan (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) dished 24 assists apiece.

Against Stevenson (21-6), the set scores were 25-11, 25-18 and 25-19. Middle blocker Alex Mercer (sr. Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) led the way with 12 kills and four blocks. Outside hitter Avery Gabbard (so. Arnold, MD/Broadneck) added nine kills and eight digs. Setters Jessica Gieselman (fr. Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) and Amy Rudolph (jr. North East, MD/Rising Sun) tallied 23 and 15 assists respectively. Outside hitter Alexa Carney (jr. Towson, MD/Townson) and Rudolph each had eight digs.

For the Profs, Havlicek accumulated nine kills and two blocks. Ciandella chipped in with 19 assists, while Ruffalo had 16 digs. Collins produced five kills, two blocks and two service aces.

Rowan hosts Goucher College on Tuesday, October 26 at 7 p.m.
