GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team went 2-0 during a tri-match on Saturday. The Profs defeated Wesley College, 3-0 and Hunter College, 3-0.

Rowan has a 9-5 overall record. In the other match, Hunter had a 3-1 victory over Wesley with set scores of 25-11, 20-25, 26-24 and 25-5. The Hawks have a 7-8 record, while the Wolverines fall to 4-21.

Against Wesley, the set scores were 25-18, 25-16 and 25-16. The Profs were led by outside hitter Katie Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) with eight kills. Middle blockers Krissy Collins (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and Nikki Binetti (fr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) followed with seven and six kills respectively. Collins also had three blocks and two service aces. Setter Kelsey Donovan (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) posted 24 assists, eight digs and two blocks. Libero Lauren Ruffalo (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) compiled 10 digs.

Rowan defeated Hunter, 25-14, 25-12 and 25-15. Binetti totaled 10 kills and two blocks. Opposite Megan Mondelli (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) registered seven kills. Donovan recorded 29 assists, 12 digs and five service aces. Ruffalo tallied 18 digs. Defensive specialists Sarah Betancourt (jr. Harrington, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) and Marissa Micciche (fr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) accumulated 13 and 10 digs respectively.

Rowan hosts William Paterson University in a conference match on Tuesday, October 5 at 7 p.m.
