Ramapo Defeats Rowan, 3-0

MAHWAH, NJ – The Ramapo College women’s volleyball team had a 3-0 victory over visiting Rowan University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday night. The set scores were 25-23, 25-21 and 25-22.

The Roadrunners improve to 14-2 overall and 4-1 in the conference. The Profs have a 12-8 overall record and a 3-3 NJAC mark.

Ramapo was led by outside hitter Michelle Ferrari (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) with 16 kills and eight digs. Outside hitter Meagan Taege (sr. Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Reg.) posted 10 kills. Setter Tiffany Fischer (jr. Woodcliff Lake, NJ/Pascack Hills) registered 28 assists and three service aces. Libero Elizabeth Steck (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) had a game-high 18 digs. Middle blocker Maura Burke (jr. Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) accumulated six blocks.

For Rowan, middle blocker Krissy Collins (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) compiled 10 kills. Outside hitter Katie Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Hearty Academy) followed with eight kills and seven digs, while middle blocker Nikki Binetti (fr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) added six kills. Setter Kelsey Donovan (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) contributed with 24 assists and nine digs. Libero Lauren Ruffalo (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) tallied 14 digs and defensive specialist Sarah Betancourt (jr. Harrington, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) had three service aces.

Rowan hosts Valley Forge Christian College in a nonconference match on Thursday, October 14 at 7 p.m.
