UNION, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team had a 3-1 victory over Kean University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday.

Rowan improves to 12-16 overall and 4-4 in the conference. Kean has an 11-13 record and a 0-8 NJAC mark. The set scores were 25-21, 21-25, 25-20 and 27-25.

The Profs were led by outside hitter Katie Havlicek (fr. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) with 24 kills and 11 digs. She compiled a .367 hitting percentage. Middle blocker Chelsea Bowman (sr. Penns Grove, NJ/Park Bible Academy) added 12 kills and four blocks to go along with a .324 hitting percentage. Outside hitter Rachel Emig (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) chipped in with seven kills. Opposite/setter Megan Mondelli (fr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) totaled 36 assists and nine digs. Libero Casey Roselle (jr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) compiled 19 digs, while defensive specialist Sarah Betancourt (so. Harrington Park, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) had 13.

For the Cougars, outside hitter Jamie Sacco (so. Park Ridge, NJ/Park Ridge) posted 17 kills and 13 digs. Middle hitter Tara Richey (so. Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) registered 11 kills. Outside hitter Nicole Bolash (so. Clinton, NJ/Voorhees) tallied eight kills and 13 digs. Setter Colleen Masterson (jr. Rahway, NJ/Roselle Catholic) dished 37 assists. Defensive specialist Mary Aldana (so. Jersey City, NJ/Saint Dominic Academy) accumulated 15 digs and outside hitter Heather Aliotta (so. Staten Island, NY/Curtis) had 11.

Rowan travels to Penn State Abington for its regular season finale on Thursday, October 29 at 7 p.m.
