GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team won 3-0 over conference opponent Rutgers-Newark on Tuesday night. The set scores were 25-15, 25-12 and 25-17.

The Profs’ outside hitter Katie Havlicek (fr. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) totaled 11 kills and had a .476 hitting percentage. Setter Chrissy McKay (sr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) registered 21 assists and eight digs. Libero Casey Roselle (jr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) contributed with 10 digs. Defensive specialist Sarah Betancourt (so. Harrington Park, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) had three service aces.

Rowan improves to 11-15 overall and 3-4 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rutgers-Newark drops to 1-25 overall and 1-6 in the conference.

For the Scarlet Raiders, outside hitter Toni Moppert (so. Woodcliff Lake, NJ/Pascack Hills) accumulated seven kills and seven digs. Setter Gabi Mangieri (jr. West Orange, NJ/West Orange) compiled 15 assists and two aces. Libero Val Dauti (sr. West Orange, NJ/West Orange) and outside hitter Rachel Witt (fr. Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) added 11 and 10 digs respectively.

Rowan is at home on Thursday, October 23 against nonconference opponent Widener University at 7 p.m.
