BETHLEHEM, PA – The Rowan University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the Paul Short Run on Friday. The women came in 17th place and the men finished 32nd in the college brown races. The meet was held at Lehigh University.
Jenn Rawls (fr. Runnemede, NJ/Highland Reg.) was the first runner to score for the women. She came in sixth with a time of 21:43 over the 6K course. Jena Peacock (so. Williamstown, NJ/Our Lady of Mercy Academy) followed in eighth place (21:53). Joy Hanke (fr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) finished 129th (23:49). Also scoring were Laura O’Mara (sr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Twp. ) 168th (24:12) and Liz Guarini (jr. Steinertville, NJ/Steinert) 185th (24:25).
The men’s top finisher was Stephen Mennitt (fr. Edison, NJ/Edison) with a 51st place. Mennitt ran a time of 26:08 on the 8K course. Jake McCormack (so. Cliffwood, NJ/Matawan Reg.) took 57th (26:11). Brian Quilty (jr. Brick, NJ/Saint Rose) and Jeff Terebey (jr. Shamong, NJ/Seneca) were 180th (27:09) and 193th (27:17) respectively. Mike Carotenuto (fr. Port Monmouth, NJ/Middletown N.) rounded out the scoring, 201st (27:21).
Next week, Rowan travels to the DeSales University Invitational on Saturday, October 10. The first race starts at 10:30 a.m.
