JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team blanked New Jersey City University, 3-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Thursday.
The Profs improve to 9-14 overall and 2-4 in the conference.  The Gothic Knights have a 5-15 record with a 2-5 NJAC mark.  The set scores were 25-18, 25-15 and 25-21.
Outside hitter Katie Havlicek (fr. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) led the way with 15 kills and eight digs.  Middle blocker Chelsea Bowman (sr. Penns Grove, NJ/Park Bible Academy) followed with 12 kills and three blocks.  Opposite Megan Mondelli (fr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) added six kills and 11 digs.  Libero Casey Roselle (jr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) contributed with 18 digs, while setter Chrissy McKay (sr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) totaled 26 assists and 15 digs.
For New Jersey City, outside hitter Tabitha Jordan (so. Bayonne, NJ/Memorial) posted 13 kills and 13 digs.  Outside hitter Melissa Loo (sr. Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) chipped in with seven kills and 19 digs.  Defensive specialist Amanda Dopico (fr. West New York, NJ/Memorial) compiled 18 digs.  Setter Alex Johanesen (jr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) accumulated 24 assists and nine digs.
Rowan hosts a tri-match on Saturday, October 17.  Rowan plays Swarthmore College at 11 a.m.  Stevenson University faces Swarthmore at 1 p.m. and Rowan takes on Stevenson at 3 p.m.
