UNION, NJ – Forward Mike Pascale scored both goals for the Rowan University men’s soccer team in a 2-1 victory over New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opponent Kean University on Wednesday night.
All of the scoring came in the second half. Pascale (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.) put the Profs on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal at 51:05. Back Igor Maciel-Martins (fr. Curitiba, Brazil/Curso e Colegio Acesso) tied the score five minutes later. Pascale recorded the game winner at 64:07 with an assist from midfielder John Loiodice (jr. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.).
Rowan is 9-4-2 overall with a 3-1-2 conference mark. Kean drops to 6-6-3 on the season and 1-4-1 in the NJAC. In the Profs’ goal, Charlie Cunliffe (jr. Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) made six saves. For the Cougars, Brian Haines (so. Ridgefield Park, NJ/Ridgefield Park) stopped four shots. Kean totaled 16 shots and Rowan took nine.
Rowan is back at home against New Jersey City University on Saturday, October 17 at 7 p.m.
