GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men’s soccer team had a 1-0 victory over Richard Stockton College in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Thursday night.
With the win, Rowan improves to 6-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference. Richard Stockton has a 9-2 record with a 3-1 NJAC mark. The loss snapped the Ospreys’ seven game win streak.
Forward Dan Arnold (sr. Sicklerville, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) scored the Profs’ lone goal at 27:07 in the first half. Forward Julian Berrios (fr. Lakewood, NJ/Calvary Academy) dropped a pass to Arnold at the 18. Arnold took the shot and it went through Richard Stockton goalkeeper Anthony Pompei’s (sr. Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton W.) hands, barely crossing the goal line.
Rowan took 18 shots and Richard Stockton had 13. Profs’ goalkeeper Charlie Cunliffe (jr. Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) made eight saves for his third shutout of the season. Pompei stopped five shots for the Ospreys.
Rowan travels to Ramapo College for a NJAC game on Saturday, October 3 at 1 p.m.
