GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team defeated William Paterson University, 3-1 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday.

Rowan won with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 25-23. The Profs improve to 8-11 overall and 1-3 in the conference. The Pioneers have a 10-4 record and a 2-3 NJAC mark.

Outside hitter Alexis Louie (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) led the way with 11 kills, 15 digs and three service aces. Outside hitter Rachel Emig (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) added nine kills, while middle blockers Krista Hendrickson (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Summit) and Chelsea Bowman (jr. Penns Grove, NJ/Salem County Christian Academy) each had eight. Libero Casey Roselle (so. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) compiled 37 digs. Setter Chrissy McKay (jr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) totaled 29 assists and 13 digs. Outside hitter Karen Ramirez (jr. Bogota, NJ/Bogota) and defensive specialist Samantha Labriola (jr. Wallington, NJ/Wallington) contributed with 13 and 11 digs respectively.

For the Pioneers, middle hitter Kelly Helfrich (jr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) posted 13 kills and 25 digs. Outside hitter Megan Maher (fr. Wood-Ridge, NJ/Wood-Ridge) registered 15 digs, 13 assists and nine kills. Outside hitter Samantha Reed (jr. Dumont, NJ/Dumont) chipped in with 19 digs and eight kills. Setter Jillian Bronowich (so. Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) accumulated 13 digs and eight assists. Outside hitter Mailyn Rodriguez (sr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) tallied 23 digs.

Rowan hosts Immaculata University on Thursday, October 9 at 7 p.m. The match will be held in the University’s Rec Center. William Paterson has a home match against John Jay on Thursday at 7 p.m.
