Babice's Two Goals Give Profs 2-0 Win Over Ospreys

POMONA, NJ – Forward Jess Babice scored two goals to lead Rowan University to a 2-0 win over New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opponent Richard Stockton College on Wednesday.

Rowan, ranked 17th nationally and third in the region, improves to 7-0-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the conference. Richard Stockton, ninth in the region, has a 9-2-1 overall record and a 3-1 NJAC mark.

Babice (so. Groveville, NJ/Steinert) put the Profs up 1-0 with an unassisted goal at 21:02 in the first half. Babice found the net again at 49:09 in the second period to seal the victory.

Rowan out shot Richard Stockton, 9-7. Goalkeeper Sarah Volkomer (jr. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) made four saves for the Profs. In the Ospreys’ goal, Alex Rogers (sr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) stopped four shots.

Rowan plays at Ramapo College in a NJAC game on Saturday, October 4 at 1 p.m. Richard Stockton hosts Rutgers-Newark on Saturday at 3 p.m.
