Steven Iafrate (fr. Closter, NJ/Demarest) took second place in the javelin at the Lions’ Invitational (Apr. 30). He recorded a throw of 200’11” (61.24 meters). Iafrate’s toss was better than the NCAA provisional of 193’3” (58.90 meters) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships qualifier of 179’1” (54.60 meters). He currently has the 12th best distance in Division III this season. For his performance, Iafrate was named the NJAC Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.
