Demetrius Rooks (so. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) took second place in the 400 meters at the Penn Invitational (Apr. 2). He ran a time of 48.34, which was better than the NCAA provisional (48.50). He also qualified (50.10) for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships. Rooks was also a member of the first place (3:17.34) 4x400 meter relay. The relay’s time was also better than the ECAC qualifier (3:24.00). Rooks was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
