Kyle Hayes (jr. Pt. Pleasant, NJ/Pt. Pleasant Boro) captured second place in the long jump at the New York City Gotham Cup (Jan. 15). His leap of 23’ 1.75” (7.05 meters) was better than the NCAA Division III provisional qualifier (22’ 8.5”, 6.92 meters). Currently, Hayes has the third best qualifying jump in the country this season. For his performance, he was selected the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Field Athlete of the Week.
