This is Ryan Gebhardt’s first season coaching the javelin throwers for the Rowan University men’s and women’s track & field teams.
The former Prof qualified for the 2017 NCAA Championships in the javelin and his top throw was 194’ 9” (59.37 m). That year, Gebhardt won the javelin at the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championships and was named to the All-Conference first team. He recorded a personal record of 207’ 11” (63.37 m). Gebhardt earned All-Region and All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
In 2016, he took first place in the javelin with 180’ 6” (55.02 m) at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships. Gebhardt finished second (190’ 6”, 58.07 m) at the conference championships and was a member of the All-Conference second team. He was selected to the All-Region team.
A Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction, Gebhardt was inducted into the Chi Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. He was a team captain and received NJAC All-Academic honorable mention.
Gebhardt graduated from the University with a bachelor’s degree in physics in 2019 and he had a minor in mathematics. He is currently a senior associate scientist at The Chemours Company in Newark, DE.
