Gerardo González Ruiz begins his first season on the Rowan Women’s Swimming coaching staff in 2025-26.
González Ruiz was recently an assistant at the University of Florida Gators Swim Camp where he worked under the guidance of head coach Anthony Nesty, Alex Dehner, Jack Szaranek, and former Olympic medalist Annie Lazor.
Prior, he was an assistant coach at Buchanan High School in Clovis, CA for two seasons and as an volunteer assistant coach at Fresno Pacific University.
A four-year member of the swim team at Division II Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where he was an All-PSAC selection as well as a CSCAA Scholar All-American earning his degree in business administration in 2023. From there González Ruiz used his final year of eligibility at Fresno Pacific in 2023-24, completing his master’s in business administration (2025). In the pool, he was a two-time Pacific Collegiate Swimming and Diving Conference (PCSC) all-conference pick in his one season with the Sunbirds.
