John Oberg joined the Rowan staff as the pole vault coach for the men's and women's track & field teams in 2015.
Oberg was a longtime coach at Ocean City High School, where he produced multiple county champions. He played football for Hall of Fame coach Tubby Raymond at the University of Delaware from 1978-79. The Blue Hens went 10-4 and were the national runner-up in 1978 before winning the national championship in 1979 with a 13-1 record. Delaware was the Eastern College Athletic Conference Team of the Year in both seasons and the Lambert Cup Eastern Champions in 1979.
Oberg is a product of Delsea Regional High School where he competed in the pole vault and football.
