Mike Medrick is in his third season as an assistant softball coach at Rowan University.
 
Medrick was an assistant coach at Rutgers-Camden from 2008-14. He helped guide the Scarlet Raptors to four Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) postseason appearances and one trip to the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. Rutgers-Camden won the 2009 ECAC Metro title.
 
Prior, Medrick was the head coach at Lenape High School from 2005-07. He compiled a 54-23 record and led the Indians to two Olympic Conference championships.
 
Medrick’s most successful tenure was as the head coach at Cherokee High School from 1987-2003. He led the Chiefs to 14 Olympic Conference titles, nine South Jersey Group IV championships and five Group IV state crowns. His overall record at Cherokee was 396-80. In 1996, Medrick was awarded the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Award of Honor for Softball.
 
Medrick has served as the manager of the Burlington County entrant of the Women’s Softball Carpenter Cup and has worked with numerous camps, tournaments and clinics. In addition to becoming a New Jersey state certified educator, Medrick also was certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and served as the head athletic trainer at Cherokee High School for 14 years.
 
Medrick graduated from Millersville State College in 1975 with a degree in earth science. He earned a certification in athletic training from West Chester State College in 1974 and a master’s in science education from Trenton State College in 1982.
 
A retired chemistry teacher from Cherokee High School, Medrick and his wife, Pamela, reside in Glassboro.
