Mary Murray enters her fifth season with the Profs in 2025 as the full-time assistant and pitching coach, as well as the recruiting coordinator. She served as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2021 season before being elevated to full-time assistant in July 2021.

During her time with the Profs, she has mentored two All-American pitchers, four NFCA All-Region pitchers, three NJAC Pitchers of the Year, and six All-NJAC performers in the circle. During the 2024 season, the Rowan pitching staff ranked top 5 in the country for ERA (1.44) and shutouts (21) en route to tying a program-best Third Place National Finish.Â

Murray has helped the Profs to four NJAC Regular Season titles, two NJAC Tournament Championships, three NCAA Tournament appearances, two NCAA Regional Championships, two NCAA Super Regional Championships, and two NCAA National Championship Tournament appearances. The Rowan Coaching Staff was named NFCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year in 2023 and 2024, as well as NJAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

Prior to her time in Glassboro, Murray was a four-year starter at Arcadia University, where she compiled a 36-17 career record in the circle with a 1.83 ERA and 236 strikeouts over three years. Despite a senior year that was cut short because of the COVID-19 pandemic, she was a three-time All-MAC Commonwealth honoree, earning First Team honors twice. Murray was the 2019 MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Year after going 14-4 with a 0.86 ERA; she was also chosen to the NFCA All-Region First Team. Following the suspended 2020 season, Murray was honored as the MAC Softball Senior Scholar-Athlete and received the Arcadia Athletics Female Senior Athlete Award. She was also named CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team.

Murray has also competed and coached on the international level, representing Great Britain. She was a member of the GB Under-22 Women’s National Team in 2019, where she competed at the Canada Cup International Softball Championship. She was selected to represent GB in Prague, Czech Republic in 2020 as well. She also represented Great Britain in the Women’s European Cup in 2019, 2022, and 2023, earning silver in 2019 in Bulgaria, and winning gold in 2023 in Croatia. She previously served as the Team Operations Manager and Pitching Coach for the GB Under-15 Women’s National Team, helping them to an appearance in the U-15 Women’s European Championships in the Netherlands.

She graduated magna cum laude from Arcadia University in 2020 with a degree in Global Media. She then earned her master’s degree in Communications from Johns Hopkins University in 2021. Murray is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Rowan.
