Kim Wilson has been the Rowan University head softball coach for 12 years. Her won-lost record at the University stands at 373-138 for a .730 winning percentage. She has guided the Profs to three New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championships and seven NCAA Championship Tournament appearances. In 2006, Wilson earned her 300th victory at the University in Rowan's 11-2 win over Richard Stockton College. Her career coaching record stands at 437-195.

Last year, Rowan went 31-11 and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Rowan ended the 2007 season with a 23-17 record. The Profs reached the championship round of the NJAC Championship Tournament. In 2006, the Profs finished with a 41-7 record and they advanced to the conference championship tournament. Rowan also reached the final of the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament. The 41 wins broke the school record of 37 from 1999 (37-10) and 1994 (37-9).

In 2005, Rowan compiled a 25-14 record. In 2004, the Profs finished the season with a 28-10 record and they had a 19-15 record in 2003. Rowan had a final record of 33-16 in 2002. It was the sixth straight season under Wilson that the softball team had 30 or more wins in a season. The Profs won their second straight conference title and advanced to the region final of the NCAA tournament.

The softball team won the 2001 NJAC Championship and advanced to the national tournament. Rowan finished 32-13 in 2000. In 1999, Rowan posted a 37-10 record which tied the 1994 school mark for wins in a season. The Profs won the region title and advanced to the national championship tournament. Wilson was selected the 1999 NJAC Coach of the Year.

The Profs ended 1998 with a 35-9 record and won the conference title. Rowan also made a NCAA regional appearance. Wilson was named the NJAC Coach of the Year and the Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. In 1997, she guided the softball team to a 35-5 won-lost record and a berth in the NCAA regional.

Prior she was the head softball coach at Washington & Jefferson College (PA) for six years. Wilson had a 64-57 record at W&J. She also served as the head coach of the Presidents’ women’s soccer team. Wilson was responsible for the recruiting, scheduling, budgets, travel, compliance, academic support, and strength and conditioning for both programs.

She was selected the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Softball Coach of the Year in 1993 and 1996. The W&J softball team finished the 1996 season with a 26-5 overall record and they were the 1996 PAC Champions. Wilson was the chairperson for the PAC softball and women’s soccer committees. She was responsible for reporting to the conference’s athletic directors council any proposals or amendments regarding each sport. Wilson was also a member of the Committee on Admissions and Recruitment and Faculty Development Committee.

At Washington & Jefferson, Wilson taught physical education courses which included fitness, weight training, badminton, coaching and recreational sports. In addition, Wilson developed a Midnight Madness program in conjunction with the Student Affairs staff. The program is a yearly co-ed intramural event which offers students an alternative weekend activity without alcohol.

Wilson was a physical education and health teacher at King William County Public Schools (VA) from 1989 to 1991. She taught physical education and health to grades five through seven at the Hamilton-Holmes Elementary School and developed an after school intramural program. Wilson also taught kindergarten through second grade physical education at the Acquinton Primary School.

Wilson graduated from Slippery Rock University (PA) in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. At Slippery Rock, she played volleyball and softball. Wilson worked in the intramural department for three years as an undergraduate and interned at the national office of the National Association of Girls and Women in Sport in Reston, VA. In the summers, she assisted the director of the Slippery Rock University Camps and Conferences.

Wilson is a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. She serves as the East Region chair on the national and All-American committees. Wilson coordinates the region committee and selections. She is one of eight region chairs that are on the All-American committee.
