Tom Lake is in his second season on the Rowan University football coaching staff. He oversees the Profs' running backs.
 
Previously, Lake was the head coach at Cumberland Regional High School from 2006-15. He led the Colts to three South Jersey Group III playoff appearances. Lake received Coach of the Year honors from the Touchdown Club of Southern New Jersey, New Jersey Football Hall of Fame and South Jersey Times. He also served as head coach for the North-South Senior Bowl and the Adam Taliaferro All-Star Game.
 
Lake played football for Bridgeton and Cumberland Regional High Schools and was part of Cumberland’s first graduating class in 1978. He continued his playing career at Lebanon Valley College from 1978-79 before transferring to Glassboro State College, now Rowan University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1983. Lake earned a master's degree in education from the University of Phoenix in 2010.
 
Lake is a chemistry and physical science teacher at Cumberland Regional after spending over 20 years in the nuclear power field working for PSEG Nuclear. He resides in Bridgeton, NJ with his wife, Mary Jane, who is also a graduate of the University. They have two daughters, Brittany and Courtney, and two grandchildren, Frank and Chase.
