Leon Harris enters his ninth season as an assistant football coach at Rowan, while marking his fifth as the quarterbacks coach, having previously worked with the Profs' tight ends.
Harris came to Glassboro after serving as the head coach at Gloucester City High School from 1987-2012 where he compiled a record of 183-85-2. His teams qualified for the postseason 21 times and won eight conference titles. Early in his career, he served as the assistant coach at Cherokee High School from 1977-1986.
A 1976 graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in social studies education, was the Terps' quarterback for four seasons and a member of the teams that played in the Cotton Bowl, the Peach Bowl, Liberty Bowl and the Gator Bowl.

Harris, who retired as the athletic director at Gloucester City three years ago, has been inducted into the Halls of Fame for the South Jersey Football Coaches Association, South Jersey Coaches Association, New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association and Gloucester City High School.
