Kevin Gunter

Former professional baseball player Kevin Gunter is in his first season with Rowan in 2021, serving as the Profs’ pitching coach.
 
Gunter brought extensive playing coaching and evaluation experience to the Profs. Prior to joining the team, he was an associate scout with the Seattle Mariners from 2017 to 2019.
 
He had also been involved with the Pro Skills Baseball Academy since 2006, and in addition to serving as an instructor, was the director of player development for nine years, while also serving as the general manager from 2014 to 2019.
 
Gunter pitched for Rowan College at Gloucester County and was part of the Roadrunners’ squads that earned three consecutive berths in the NJCAA Division III World Series, with championship game appearances in 2002 and 2003.
 
Orginally from Richland, NJ, he finished his collegiate career at Old Dominion University and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 13th round of the 2006 MLB Draft. His professional career stretched for four years as he played in the minor leagues for both the Reds and Florida Marlins’ organizations
