#17 Softball Takes Two at Ramapo, 6-3 and 9-3, to Give Wilson her 1,000th Coaching Win at Rowan; Profs Locked in as #2 NJAC Tournament Seed

Profs locked in as #2 NJAC Tournament Seed; Will host NJAC Semifinal Game on Thursday at 3 p.m.

MAHWAH, NJ -- #17 Rowan gave head coach Kim Wilson her second-career milestone in as many seasons with the Profs taking two at Ramapo in a doubleheader sweep, 6-3, and 9-3, to close out the regular season.

Wilson earned her 1,000th victory as head coach of the Rowan Softball Program. In 30 seasons as the helm, Wilson has put together a 1,001-314-2 record for the Profs. The NFCA Hall of Fame coach picked up her 1,000th career coaching victory last season, becoming the first woman in Division III to earn the distinction, in March on the team's Spring Break trip in Florida.

Game one
Maggie Funston's RBI single helped open a four-run seventh to break a 2-2 tie in the milestone win for Wilson. Funston, Ava Fisher, and Zara MacNair all had two hits apiece while Mikayla Dansky also added a two-run double as part of that seventh.

BethAnne Doderer fought through six innings, yielding the two runs on six hits raise her record to 17-2.

Abigail Pawlowski made it 1-0 Rowan with her two-out single to score Zoey Rogers in the first.

The Roadrunners put two on the board in the bottom half on a bases loaded walk and later a wild pitch. Rogers tied back up as her bases loaded foul out to right was deep enough to score pinch runner Maddyn Rittler.

After the two teams went down in order in the fourth and fifth innings, each team threatened with runners on in each half of the sixth. MacNair followed Funston's go-ahead RBI in the seventh with her own followed by Dansky's two-run double to make it 6-2.

Game two
The Profs jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the third to help the team score its 16th win in a row.

Ava Fisher was 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI's and first-inning two-run homer. Kate Evick added three hits with MacNair going 2-for-3 with a double and RBI triple.

Fisher's NJAC-leading seventh home run of the season was later followed by Funston's bases load walk to get Rowan out to a 3-0 edge.

Rogers walked and scored in the second and later added a RBI single in the third to add to the lead.

After the Profs added two unearned runs in the fifth, Ramapo crossed a run in the bottom half on an RBI double to make it 8-1.

Emily McCutcheon (15-5) went through 5.2 innings of work, allowing just one run on seven hits.
