EASTLAKE, OHIO - Second-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater broke open a close game in the late innings to defeat Rowan, 17-4, and end the Profs' run in the 2025 NCAA Division III World Series. Rowan closes out the tournament with a 2-2 record while UW-Whitewater advances to the championship series against Messiah.

Marco Mannino had two hits and
Karson Harcourt,
Eric Sabato,
Damon Suriani and
Brayden Davis drove in runs as the Profs' offense was limited to seven hits.
Steven Maiers (5-2) went 4.1 innings in the start while the Profs used six relievers in the game.

With the score tied at 2-2 in the fourth, Rowan took a brief 3-2 lead in the fifth as Sabato singled, advanced to third on
Joey Bogart's single and scored on a successful safety bunt by Harcourt.

The Warhawks scored three in the fifth on four hits, led by a two-run double from Adam Cootway to go up, 5-3.
Rowan cut it to 5-4 in the sixth as
Phil Sedalis reached second base on an error, Mannino singled and
Jason Morgan reached on a fielder's choice. After Suriani was hit by a pitch, Davis used a sacrifice fly to score Sedalis.

UW-Whitewater then scored four runs in the seventh to go up, 9-4, and then exploded for eight runs in the eighth to put the game well out of reach for the Profs.

Trailing 1-0 in the first, Rowan answered with two runs in the top of the second, as Morgan led off with a single and scored on  Suriani's double. Suriani moved to third on a fly out and came home on a sacrifice fly by Sabato.

Rowan (38-12) ends the season with the most wins under head coach
Mike Dickson, and third most in school history, and recording the Profs' most wins in the Division III World Series since 1979. The Profs lost to #4 Denison in the opening game and rebounded to win two on Sunday (6/1), eliminating #6 Trinity (TX) and Denison.
