LYNCHBURG, VA - #15 Rowan defeated #5 Lynchburg, 6-2, in Game 2 to sweep the Super Regional series and earn a berth to the NCAA Division III College World Series set for May 30-June 5 at Classic Park in East Lake, Ohio. The Profs are making their fourth trip all-time, the second under head coach
Mike Dickson, and the first since 2021.

Zach Coluccio and
Steven Maiers combined to limit Lynchburg to just two runs, while the Profs' offense forced the Hornets to use three pitchers.

Lynchburg twice had the bases loaded, in the first inning against Coluccio, and in the seventh versus Maiers. Both Profs were able to retire the Hornets while Maiers notched two strikeouts in the seventh to do so. Â Lynchburg added another one in the eighth, and had a runner on second, but Maiers again came up with another strikeout to end the inning and preserve the 6-2 lead.

Marco Mannino started things off for the Profs with a double to score Cannon, who opened the game drawing a walk.
Jason Morgan followed with a triple to bring home Mannino and Rowan had a 2-0 lead.

In the third, Cannon led off with a single, advanced on a wild pitch and a ground out and then scored on a sacrifice fly from Mannino. Rowan added one in the fourth as
Damon Suriani singled and was eventually brought home on a base hit by
Karson Harcourt, giving the Profs a 4-0 advantage.

The Profs added two in the sixth starting with back-to-back singles by Cannon and Sedalis. Cannon advanced to third on a bunt from Mannino and then crossed the plate on a single by Morgan. Suriani laid down a bunt that scored Sedalis, as Rowan led 6-0.
