GLASSBORO, NJ -- #4 Rowan opened play in the 2025 NCAA Division III Softball Tournament with an 8-0 win in six innings over SUNY-Cortland on Thursday in the Glassboro Regional here on campus.
The Profs will now take on Tufts, who
took down RPI, 8-1, in Thursday's other game, tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. Cortland and RPI will play in an elimination game following at 1:30 p.m. The winner of that game will play the loser of the Rowan/Tufts contest in another elimination game at 4:00 p.m.

Payton MacNair (2 runs, BB, RBI) and
Abigail Pawlowski (2 RBI, run) each had three hits while pitcher
Emily McCutcheon allowed just one hit with four strikeouts and no walks.
MacNair and
Liz McCaffery scored on Pawlowski's single in the bottom of the first to get the home team on the board. Pawlowski came home on an RBI single from
Aly Reim.
Leading 4-0 heading into the sixth, Rowan erupted for four runs capped by
Kate Evick's single to score
Breanna Bryant to kick in the eight-run rule.
Evick was 2-for-2 and a walk while McCaffery walked, stole a base, and scored three times.
McCutcheon (19-1), who won her fifth-straight start, allowed her lone hit in the fourth, a double from McKenna Barry. Barry would be the only Red Dragon get past first base on the day.
Tufts had five players with two or more hits, led by Kaitlyn Perucci (3-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI) in its win over RPI. The Jumbos and Profs will meet for the first time since the 2022 regional at Tufts.
Action concludes on Saturday with game 6 of the Glassboro Regional starting at 11 a.m. with the 'if necessary' game following at 1:30 p.m.
