GLASSBORO, NJ -
Steven Maiers threw seven scoreless innings and
Jason Morgan drove in three runs as #18 Rowan shut out Arcadia, 9-0, in a regional matchup, as the Profs bounced back from a conference loss the day before to improve to 19-8.
Maiers (3-1) scattered five Arcadia (21-9) hits and struck out seven  to earn his third win, with
Christian Rice and
Mark Grubb preserving the shutout in the final two innings, as the relievers posted a strikeout each in one inning.
Morgan was 2-for-2 with three RBI,
Phil Sedalis went 3-for-4, scoring three runs and driving in two and
Karson Harcourt was 2-for-2 with two RBI to pace the Profs' offense.
Rowan scored seven runs in the first three innings, highlighted by a five-run second. Sedalis scored in the first when Morgan doubled down the left field line.
In the second,
Tyler Cannon hit a two-run double to score
Joey Bogart and
Mason Dorsey. Sedalis drove in two runs with a single to bring home Harcourt and Cannon. Morgan's sacrifice bunt allowed Sedalis to score and Rowan owned a 6-0 lead.
The Profs added another in the third when Harcourt's single scored Dorsey, who had reached base on a fielder's choice. Rowan finished up the scoring with one in the fifth on an RBI single from Harcourt and then another in the sixth as Morgan hit a sacrifice fly to score Sedalis.
Rowan gets a brief break on Wednesday from the stretch of six games in six days and returns to action on Thursday hosting TCNJ.
