#13 Baseball Edged by St. Olaf, 3-2, in 10 Innings in Florida Finale; Profs Go 7-1 on the Trip

WINTER HAVEN, FL - A bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 10th inning gave St. Olaf a 3-2 win over #13 Rowan, handing the Profs their first loss of the RussMatt Invitational as they closed out the trip. It also stopped a 10-game winning streak for Rowan (11-2) while the Profs went 7-1 on the Spring Break trip.

Rowan tied the game at 2-2 in the eighth as Jason Morgan and Nick Struble hit consecutive singles, and Morgan eventually scored on a wild pitch.

The Profs couldn't get a run in the 10th, and St. Olaf loaded the bases on two hit batters, with Breckin Hadley driving in the winning run on a bloop single.

Rowan scored first in the game in the fourth inning as Phil Sedalis walked, stole second and came home on a single by Struble, who was the only Prof with two hits on the day.

St. Olaf (6-3) tied it up in the bottom of that inning and took a 2-1 lead in the seventh on a ground-rule double and then a single from Jack Alley.

Steven Maiers went 6.0 innings for the Profs and struck out seven, with Mark Grubb going three innings and striking out two, with Sean Colbert finishing the game.

Rowan heads back to New Jersey but will visit Dickinson on Monday, and Penn State Abington on Tuesday before playing the home opener on Wednesday against Swarthmore.
