GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan downed Babson, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in the Profs' home opener.

Mackenzie Clement, Angela Oliveto, and Julianna Giordano all scored for Rowan who also got three saves from goalie Calista Burke to help give the defense its first shutout of the season.

Clement notched her second penalty kick goal in as many games, giving the Profs a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute.

In the 32nd minute, Giordano was able to get around a charging Babson keeper Nora Ryan to find Oliveto wide open for a one-touch into the net to pick up the assist. Rowan outshot the Beavers, 6-1, in the stanza, and held a two-goal lead at the half.

Giordano tacked on the third goal in the 54th minute, taking a pass off a free kick in the Babson end where she dribbled into the box and beat Ryan for a 3-0 advantage.

Burke made all three saves in the second half to notch her 25th career clean sheet. Ryan finished with five stops for Babson.

The Profs return to action on Wednesday as the team travels to Swarthmore in a 4:30 p.m. start.
