Avery Holland of East Texas Baptist limited Rowan to five hits adding two strikeouts and two walks. Teammate Delanie Loya drove in four runs and Emma Bell was 4-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
Breanna Bryant had two of the team's five hits for the Profs who also got a double from
McKenzie Melvin.
The Tigers crossed an unearned run in the first and added two more in the second to chase out starter
Emily McCutcheon. Loya's two-run double in the third added to the ETBU lead. Bell would add an RBI double and later score on a bases-loaded walk in the fourth to put the Profs in a seven-run deficit.
Rowan looked to get something going in the top of the fifth as singles from Bryant and
Zara MacNair, followed by a walk from
Morgan Tripodi loaded the bases. With two outs, Holland was able to end the inning with a strikeout to thwart the Profs.
The Profs and Case Western Reserve met earlier this season back on March 9th at The Spring Games down in Florida with the Spartans posting a 4-1 decision.
