GRANVILLE, OHIO - Second-ranked Denison defeated #23 Rowan, 13-0, in the championship of the NCAA Division III Baseball Granville Regional giving the host team its first-ever Regional Championship and ending the Profs' season. Rowan needed to defeat Denison twice to win the title.
Rowan concludes its year with a 29-15 record while making its seventh consecutive appearance in the NCAA Regionals. The Profs went 2-2 in the double-elimination tournament, defeating Millikin and Hanover and falling to Denison twice.
Senior
Tyler Cannon was the only Prof with multiple hits as the Big Red pitching staff held Rowan to eight hits. Cannon closes out his career with as Rowan's all-time leader in career doubles with 62.
Denison (42-6) took a 3-0 lead in its first at-bat without a hit, taking advantage of a combined four walks and hit batters.
The Big Red added to their total by scoring multiple runs in four consecutive innings, to take a 13-0 lead. Denison posted two in the fourth and then picked up two runs in the fifth, helped by a pair of doubles and then scored three runs in the sixth on two hits and an error. The Big Red used consecutive doubles in the seventh as well as three walks/hit batsmen to score three runs

Matt Choi (3-3) made the start and suffered the loss after four innings, while
Sean Colbert,
Jaxon Casdia and Joey Dineen combined for the final five innings.
