The two teams will meet again on Saturday as the Engineers prevailed out of the loser's bracket. Game time is slated for 11 a.m. with Rowan needing one win to move on the super regionals. Should MIT gain a victory, a seventh and deciding game of the three-day regional tournament will take place shortly after.

Payton MacNair had a hand in five of the six runs on the day as the senior was officially 1-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Cat Thomas added three hits while Kaitlyn Riggs walked twice.

Three runs would cross home on her single in the third, with two coming around to the plate plus another off a throwing error from the outfield. She would score off a single just inside the third base line from Breanna Bryant to cap the four-run frame and erase a 1-0 MIT lead.

The Profs, who were designated the away team, took the momentum of a line out double play in the bottom of the fourth into the top of fifth. McKenzie Melvin delivered a big two-out RBI triple to plate pinch runner Aly Reim to make it 5-1.

Rylee Lutz entered in the second for starter Emily McCutcheon after MIT crossed a run in the first. A two-out, two-run single in the fifth from the Engineer's Arianna Kumar cut the lead down to two runs.

In the top of the sixth, Liz McCaffery reached on a lead-off single and was moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Now with two outs, MacNair's grounder to second was misplayed, allowing McCaffery to come home for some more breathing room.

Lutz worked out of a jam in the seventh with two on and the tying run at the plate. A ball hit to McCaffery was flipped to MacNair covering second base for the final out of the game.

The day's second game saw SUNY-New Paltz take down Centenary, 7-2, in an elimination game. After that, New Paltz took on MIT in another elimination game with the Engineers posting a 7-1 win to knock out the Hawks.
