PITMAN, NJ -- Four Rowan Student-Athletes were highlighted by the New Jersey Athletic Conference in it weekly awards for the week ending April 21st.

Molly Green was selected the NJAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. Mike Shannon took home the NJAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor. In men's track and field, Marquise Young was named the NJAC Track Athlete of the Week and Johannes Rivera the NJAC Rookie of the Week.

Green earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second-straight week. The junior totaled 11 goals, three assists, five ground balls, three caused turnovers and 18 draw controls in the Profs' 2-0 week. The midfielder scored a game-high and career-high six goals, and added an assist, as Rowan defeated Stockton, 17-6. She also recorded four ground balls and six draw controls in the win. Green followed that with five goals and two assists in the 22-3 win at Ramapo, scoring on all six shots that she took. The junior also matched her career-high with 12 draw controls. She is the Profs' second leading scorer  with 44 goals and 10 assists on the year, while topping the squad with 79 draw controls.

Shannon received NJAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the first time in his career. The senior tossed a complete-game shutout as the #20 Profs defeated TCNJ, 1-0, to give Rowan a sweep of the two-game series. The righthander limited the Lions to just five hits, while he struck out eight and worked out of two bases-loaded jams in the seventh and nine innings. Shannon threw over 130 pitches in the complete game, which was his second of the season and third of his career. It was his first complete-game shutout of the year and he tops the Profs' staff in victories with his 5-2 record.

Young, who scored his second NJAC Men's Track & Field Track Athlete of the Week this season, ran a 14.45 in the 110 meter hurdles and a 53.34 in the 400 meter hurdles at the Baylor Michael Johnson Invitational over the weekend.

Rivera turned in a pair of PRs as well as two top 5 NJAC times at Widener's Paul Donahue Invitational on Saturday for his first weekly conference honor. The freshman hit a #2 NJAC time in the 800 meters (1:56.09) and later add a #3 NJAC time in the 1500 meters (3:57.32).

This week, the women's lacrosse team (6-9, 3-0 NJAC) wraps up the regular season beginning on Wednesday with a home matchup against #9 TCNJ on Senior Night in a battle for first place. Saturday's matchup sees the Profs head to Montclair State. The Profs have clinched a playoff berth and can nail down the top playoff seed with wins over the Lions.

#20 Baseball (20-10, 7-7 NJAC) will take on Immaculata on Tuesday to start its final week of the regular season. The Profs will do a home and home with Rutgers Newark on Thursday and Friday before the finale on Saturday at home vs. NJCU. With four conference games remaining, Rowan, who sits in the final playoff seed at #6, will look to pick up some wins to help lock up a trip to the conference tournament.

#6 Men's track & field will see action this week at both the Penn Relays and at TCNJ's Lions Invitational this weekend.
