#3 Men's Track & Field Leads NJAC Championships after Day One on Saturday

Agyemang, Poloso claim first-place finishes on the day

MAHWAH, NJ – #3 Rowan Track & Field had two first place finishes as the Profs lead the team scoring after the first day of the 2023 New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Ramapo College.

Nana Agyemang claimed first in the long jump (7.12 meters) while Greg Poloso had the top mark in the javelin (66.88 meters).

The Profs totaled 90 points on Saturday, 44 ahead of second-place TCNJ, and 51 in front of Montclair State in third.

UPDATED RESULTS

Other action in the finals included:
- Edgar Rosa (60.44 meters) was second and Kevin Armstrong (59.13) claimed third behind Poloso in the javelin
- Tyler Raimondi (4.30 meters), Max Owens (4.15 meters), Eric Byrne (4.15) finished second, third, and fourth respectively in the pole vault
- In the 3000 meter steeplechase, Brandon Jarrett (9:45.04) was second and Caleb Clevenger with a PR time (9:54.70) was third
- Matthew Conway (32:38.78), Shane Vostenak (32:38.84) , and Noah Cziryak (32:43.09) competed in the 10k, finishing third, fourth, and fifth

In preliminary events:
- The Profs had five qualify for the 110 meter hurdle final; Jason Agyemang (14.45), Marquise Young (14.66), Kwaku Nkrumah (14.67), Anaias Hughes (15.76), and Michael Lawrence (15.88) will all race tomorrow
- Rowan also had five qualifiers, this time in the 100 meters prelims; Amara Conte (21.42), Jah'mere Beasley (21.54), Shamar Love (21.64), Agyemang (21.68), and Evan Corcoran (21.77)
- Jarquil Young (49.75) and Conte (49.77) moved on in the 400 meters
- Love (10.75), Corcoran (10.81), Beasley (10.82), Robert McKinney (10.88) will race in the 100 meter final
- Jason Agyemang (53.98), Marquise Young (54.09), Noah Rivera-Sharp (54.94), Joe DeVito (55.15) placed in the top nine in the 400 meter hurdle prelims

Action gets underway tomorrow at 10 a.m.
