PITMAN, NJ –
Marquise Young,
Kwaku Nkrumah, and head coach
Dustin Dimit all captured top honors from the New Jersey Athletic Conference in outdoor track & field as the year-end awards were announced on Friday.
Young was named the NJAC Outstanding Track Athlete and Nkrumah was chosen the NJAC Rookie of the Year. Head Coach
Dustin Dimit was voted the NJAC Coach of the Year as over 20 Profs were selected all-conference as the honors were based on performances at the 2023 NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships while the All-NJAC special awards were determined by a vote of the league's head coaches.
Young earned first-team honors after winning the 400 meter hurdles and picked up second-team accolades in the 110 meter hurdles.
Nkrumah won the 110 meter hurdles for a first-team selection.
For Dimit, he earns coach of the year honors for the eighth-consecutive year helping lead the Profs to the NJAC Title also for the eighth year in a row.
First-team honors also went to
Amara Conte (400 meters), who set a meet record and a personal best in the finals,
Adonis McGee in the high jump,
Nana Agyemang in the long jump, and
Greg Poloso in the javelin. The 4x100 relay of
Shamar Love,
Evan Corcoran,
Jah'mere Beasley, and Agyemang round out the eight first-team winners.
On the second team, Beasley scored honors in both the 100 meters and 200 meters, along with
Justin Kelly in the 5000 meters,
Joe DeVito in the 400 meter hurdles,
Brandon Jarrett in the 3000 meter steeplechase,
Anaias Hughes in the high jump,
Tyler Raimondi in the pole vault,
Ian Bain in the discus, and
Edgar Rosa in the javelin. The 4x400 relay squad of
Noah Rivera-Sharp,
Masai Byrd, Young, and DeVito also were highlighted.
The honorable mention list features Corcoran (100 meters), Conte (200 meters),
Jarquil Young (400 meters),
Jake Kolodziej (800 meters),
Jake Riley (1500 meters),
Matthew Conway (10000 meters),
Jason Agyemang (110 hurdles),
Caleb Clevenger (3000 steeplechase),
Eric Byrne (pole vault)
Max Owens (pole vault), and
Kevin Armstrong (javelin).
The Profs captured the NJAC Championships with a total of 296 points, 136 ahead of second place.
The team will see select members compete on Monday at the Widener Last Chance before heading to the AARTFC Outdoor Championships beginning on Wednesday, May 17th at Susquehanna.
