AUBURNDALE, FL –
Zach Grace threw a two-hit shutout as #11 Rowan baseball defeated UMass-Boston, 3-0, at the RussMatt Invitational.
Ryan Murphy,
Tyler Cannon and
Anthony Schooley each had two hits on the day to lead the Profs (6-3).
Grace had 11 strikeouts while scattering the two hits and not allowing any runs as he earned his first victory at Rowan.
The Profs scored all three runs in the fifth inning as
Pat Defeciani hit a sacrifice fly to score Cannon, who singled. Murphy, who had doubled, then scored on a single by Schooley and
Phil Sedalis singled to drive in the final run.
Dylan Maria pitched the eighth inning in relief and struck out one while
Christian Bascunan finished the game striking out two batters in the ninth.
The Profs are back in action tomorrow when they face Roger Williams at 6:30 p.m. at Northeast Regional Park in Davenport, FL.
