DAVENPORT, FL  - The Rowan baseball team fell to Benedictine, 2-0, in action at the RussMatt Invitational, as the #5 Profs stranded 10 runners on base.

Trailing 1-0 since the fifth inning, Rowan (4-2) had a chance to tie it in the eighth when Chris Curcio reached on an infield hit, and Phil Sedalis singled to left. Pinch hitter Anthony Schooley stroked a single to left, but Curcio was out at the plate on the throw by Benedictine leftfielder Chase Hanselman.

After the teams battled through four scoreless innings, Benedictine (6-2) got on the board in the fifth after Steven Salvino walked and advanced on a wild pitch and then a balk, and then scored on a wild pitch on a walk. The Eagles scored an insurance run in the eighth on an RBI single by Logan Gregorio.
