MAHWAH, NJ -
Julia Cavicchio and
Sidney Pavlishin had two goals apiece as #18 Rowan defeated Ramapo, 6-0, in the field hockey regular-season finale. The Profs' win, coupled with a loss by TCNJ to Montclair State, gives Rowan the regular-season title and the number-one seed in this week's conference championship. Rowan will host fourth-seeded Stockton on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Rowan (9-7; 4-1) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half, starting with a goal from
Tess Herman just nine minutes into the contest, assisted by Cavicchio. Pavlishin scored an unassisted goal five minutes later and then Cavicchio scored in the 18th minute, with the assist from
Isabel Weiner.
Cavicchio scored again in the 39th minute off a penalty corner to run the Profs' lead to 4-0, with the assist from
Amber Powell. Pavlishin scored her second of the game in the 45th minute, with Cavicchio posting her second assist of the game.
Sarita Marshall closed out the scoring at 51:48 off an assist from
Kaylee Wenzel, as the Profs tied their highest scoring output of the season.
Mariah Juiliano made one save in recording the first shutout of her career, as the Profs outshot the Roadrunners by a dominating 19-1 margin.
It marks the third consecutive regular-season title for Rowan, which has won back-to-back NJAC Championships.
